Un Virak Soeurn

Un Virak Soeurn is a dedicated English lecturer at The University of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, where he has been fostering student engagement and proficiency since 2022. Born on May 17, 1989, in Takeo Province, Cambodia, he is married and resides in Sangkat Chakangre Kraom, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh. Mr. Soeurn brings a wealth of qualifications to his role, holding a Master's degree in English and Education, a Bachelor's degree in Educational Science specializing in English Literature, and a certificate as a Teacher with Higher Education Degree in English Language and Khmer Literature. His expertise extends to available courses such as BA in English, MA in TESOL, MA in English and Education, as well as specialized offerings like English for Business and English for Law, all of which align seamlessly with his practical knowledge and teaching philosophy.

In his current position at The University of Cambodia, Mr. Soeurn drives students' active participation in mastering English while equipping them with Google platforms to encourage independent learning. His approach emphasizes interactive methodologies, drawing from his broader experience in education quality enhancement and modern teaching strategies like communicative language teaching. Complementing his professional duties, he completed a formal training course in Inspection in Education from April 2023 to March 2024, which has informed his commitment to elevating educational standards.
 
Mr. Soeurn's scholarly contributions include a 2023-2024 research report titled "Teaching Productive Skills to Students at Sok An Tonle Bati High School," fulfilling requirements for his Master's degree. He has also pursued professional development through various training courses, such as the double-coding writing workshop on Southeast Asia Primary Learning Metrics in September 2024, a computer literacy course in Khmer Unicode and Khmer Open Office in 2012, attendance at the fifth CamTESOL Conference on "The Globalization of ELT: Emerging Directions" in February 2009, and a computer course on MS Word and MS Excel in 2009. These experiences underscore his dedication to staying abreast of global trends in English language teaching.
 
Through his multifaceted background and passion for education, Un Virak Soeurn continues to inspire the next generation of English learners at The University of Cambodia.
