Mr. HOUN Thon
Lecturer of English Mr. HOUN Thon is a committed and experienced lecturer with over a decade of service in English language education. He began his career as a teacher of English and has since dedicated more than ten years to teaching and mentoring students. He currently serves as a high school teacher of English, where he continues to support and guide students in their academic and personal development. In addition to his full-time role, he is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of Cambodia, where he assists undergraduate students in developing their academic and professional English communication skills.
Mr. HOUN is presently a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Administration at the University of Cambodia. He holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (M.TEFL) from the University of Cambodia and a Bachelor's degree in TEFL from BELTEI International University, and a Certificate of Teacher with High Education Degree from the National Institute of Education (NIE). Throughout his career, he has actively engaged in professional development activities both locally and internationally, consistently updating his expertise in innovative teaching methods and strategies.
He plays an integral role in curriculum design, syllabus development, and the creation of standardized assessments. His work is dedicated to equipping students with the skills required to succeed in dynamic and modern learning environments. He also fosters a culture of research among student teachers by guiding them in conducting classroom-based action research to enhance teaching and learning practices.
Mr. HOUN’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of strong teacher-student relationships and learner engagement through practical, creative, and communicative approaches. He is deeply committed to developing the linguistic and professional competencies of future educators, ensuring they become confident and capable professionals.
Beyond his teaching responsibilities, Mr. HOUN is a strong advocate of lifelong learning and professional development. He remains devoted to advancing the quality of education in Cambodia through collaboration, innovation, and the empowerment of future educators. As an active researcher, he has published several articles in international journals on topics related to English speaking, shadow education, and educational reform.
