Marilou M. Dela Sierra
Ms. Marilou M. Dela Sierra is a Filipino teacher who has been teaching for more than 28 years both local and international. Her expertise in teaching kindergarten, elementary, high school and now in the university shows how she devoted her time and heart in the world of teaching.
She graduated from the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, Philippines with Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in English in 1997. A few years later, she took up her master units in Guidance and Counselling and Master of Teaching English in the same university.
Her first teaching and administrative experience took place in the Philippines for 8 years in Brightways Academy, Philippines. As she moved to Cambodia in 2006, she became the Dean of the English Department in Highlands Cambodia (formerly Rawlings Institute) in Sihanouk Province. Three years later, she transferred to Phnom Pehn and became one of the lecturers in the University of Cambodia for 16 years now. She received several awards as the Faculty of the Year in more than 10 consecutive years in the University of Cambodia.
Additionally, her passion towards teaching does not only happen in the classroom but also in different places as a paramedic as well as teaching the villages and indigenous places for medical mission not only in the provinces of the Philippines but also in Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
She believes that teaching is the noblest profession. This philosophy brings hope to every student of the new generation. Her commitment and passion towards a better future will be carried on not only today but beyond.
